I was in Safeway (hey that rhymes!), in the fruit section and I could smell peaches. Grassy hills, blue skies, peach juice dribbling down our chins. It’s the scent of summer!
Then I walked out, the palm trees were swaying, gray silhouettes against the twilight sky. I love dusk. Such a beautiful time of day. Everything slows, everything blurs, as if someone took their oil pastel stained finger, and smudged the whole world midnight blue. And there’s nothing but the scent of peaches in the air.
as you know, i am running to raise money for livingwater missions. More specifically, the money raised will go towards building an orphanage in Cambodia, one of the goals of the Cambodia mission team.
there is great need in Cambodia; there are many orphans who suffer at the hands of immoral…
My beautiful little sister! Taking her shopping after her long morning of taking the SAT. She’s the sunshine in my day, the muffled laughter in the night, the joy in my smile and the spring in my step.
Her reaction: “Ewww. Gross unnie.”
Don’t worry Jonny. I love you too!
Most of my Christian life I’ve been making the same mistake over and over and over. I keep putting my confidence in my discipline, in my good intentions, in my knowledge of the Bible, in order to produce love for God. I always end up in legalism and self-righteousness when I do this. One day the Lord interrupted all of this. He said to me, ‘If you ever hear me say to you, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant,’ it won’t be because you were a good follower, it will be because my Son is a good leader. Put your confidence in His ability to lead, not in your ability to follow.’
You can’t grow in humility by serving.
You can’t grow in courage by acting.
You can’t grow in serving by doing.
Life transformation can happen only if you’re not intensely looking at yourself, but God’s glory greater than your glory.

Sang this song for the first time in Pathway today. Mmmm.
Bless the Lord, O my soul O my soul Worship His holy name Sing like never before O my soul I’ll worship Your holy name
The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning It’s time to sing Your song again Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me Let me be singing when the evening comes
Bless the Lord, O my soul O my soul Worship His holy name Sing like never before O my soul I’ll worship Your holy name
You’re rich in love, and You’re slow to anger Your name is great, and Your heart is kind For all Your goodness I will keep on singing Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find
Bless the Lord, O my soul O my soul Worship His holy name Sing like never before O my soul I’ll worship Your holy name
And on that day when my strength is failing The end draws near and my time has come Still my soul will sing Your praise unending Ten thousand years and then forevermore
Bless the Lord, O my soul O my soul Worship His holy name Sing like never before O my soul I’ll worship Your holy name
Jesus, I’ll worship Your holy name Lord, I’ll worship Your holy name
Sing like never before O my soul I’ll worship Your holy name Jesus, I’ll worship Your holy name I’ll worship Your holy name
